Full Job Description

Navy MWR Starbucks Barista creates the Navy MWR Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing legendary customer service with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment.

Responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Navy MWR Starbucks guiding principles of providing superior customer service to our patrons.

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.

Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Understanding of basic food handling techniques. Ability to follow oral instructions and perform routine manual tasks involving few steps.

Must use judgment in sequencing tasks and be able to concentrate on uniform individual portions and to avoid distraction when serving several people at a time.

Must have an understanding of personal hygiene standards and simple food handling techniques. Knowledge of basic arithmetic and cash handling techniques.

Must have a working knowledge how to operate and clean the coffee machines. Must be able to follow and relay instructions.

Exercise tact, good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting both customers and employees. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Major Duties:

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES Performs tasks involved in preparing and serving customers with snacks and beverages including coffee and made to order espresso beverages.

Orders food items to be sold (ie. Muffins, biscotti, snacks, etc.) and ensures retail stock is replenished as needed. Arranges items in an appealing marketing display for sale.

Operates cash register and prepares necessary documentation for cash funds accountability. May assist in taking inventory.

Performs housekeeping tasks and is accountable for maintaining a safe, clean workplace. Performs other related duties as assigned.
