Summary

This job involves hands-on maintenance and repair of military vehicles like cars, trucks, and engines for the U.S. Marine Corps in California.

  • You will maintain, repair, and overhaul combustion-powered automotive vehicles, over-the-road trucks, and comparable vehicles.
  • You will remove, replace, adjust, or clean defective parts or components such as fouled spark plugs, worn brake shoes, water pumps, engine gaskets, belts and hoses, etc.
  • You will replace complete assemblies by removing a damaged engine and replacing it with a new engine.
  • You will adjust brakes, transmission linkages, engine idle, voltage and current control valves, expansion valves and pressure regulator valves.
  • You will perform automotive servicing such as recovering, evacuating and recharging air conditioners.
  • You will perform visual inspections, auditory checks and/or tests on the ignition, fuel and electrical systems.
