Summary

This job is for an automotive mechanic at a U.S. Army base in Puerto Rico, where you'll diagnose and fix problems in vehicle engines, transmissions, and other key parts using tools and manuals.

This position is located at Automotive Skill Center, Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, Building 159, Bailey Road.. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less).

Qualification Requirements: A qualified candidate must possess the following: Demonstrated work experience directly related to the duties described above that include the skills and knowledge listed.

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and/or overhaul major components and systems: engines, transmissions, differentials, transaxles, electronic fuel injection, emission control, related electrical, electronic, hydraulic, fuel, and other assemblies.
  • Tears down, adjusts, repairs, reassembles, and runs operational checks on components of these systems following instructions contained in technical manuals.
  • Isolates and repairs complex malfunctions which are often difficult to trace by a combination of visual and auditory examinations.
  • Uses a wide variety of test equipment such as computerized engine analyzers, compression testers, test benches, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and special feeler and dial gauges.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
