Job Description

Summary

This job involves helping run a statewide program for inmate visits and drug testing in South Carolina prisons, including guiding staff, ensuring rules are followed, and handling scheduling through a vendor system.

It's a support role to the main director, dealing with approvals, compliance checks, and problem-solving for disruptions.

A good fit would be someone organized with experience managing programs, especially in corrections or administration, who can handle on-call duties and work with teams across facilities.

  • Ability to provide operational guidance and resolve escalated issues
  • Familiarity with scheduling and coordinating services, including in-person and online
  • Preferred experience with blue zone/mainframe and Power Apps
  • Availability as an on-call employee

Full Job Description

  • Acts as the Assistant Division Director for Visitation and Inmate Drug Testing.
  • Assists the Division Director in administering the statewide
  • inmate visitation program for all prospective visitors of SCDC inmate.
  • Supports consistent application of approval and disapproval criteria across all institutions and designated facilities.
  • Provides operational guidance to staff and assists with resolving visitation-related issue escalated from institutions.
  • Supports the Division Director in managing the agency's inmate drug testing program.
  • Assists in monitoring institutional compliance with required testing percentages, recordkeeping, standards, and documentation of results and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinates administrative oversight of supply tracking, inventory accountability, and reporting requirements.
  • Assists in overseeing scheduling and coordination of in-person and online visitation services through GTL.
  • Works with institutions to address visitation cancellations, schedule changes, and operational disruptions.

Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree and relevant program management experience.


SCDC Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience in administrative or program support.

OR

  • Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of relevant experience in administrative or program support.

OR

  • Associate's degree and six (6) years of relevant experience in administrative or program.

OR

  • High school diploma and eight (8) years of relevant experience in administrative or program support.

Qualifications

Preferred experience with blue zone/mainframe and power apps.
