This job is for a leadership role at a secure facility for young people in trouble with the law, where you'll manage daily operations like living areas, mental health support, education, job training, and safety to help youth rehabilitate and succeed.

Job Title: Associate Superintendent (WMS02)Location: Echo Glen/Snoqualmie, WA - Regular onsite attendance is required. Closes: Friday, April 17, 2026Salary: $93,696.00 - $117,120.00 Annually.
The salary does not include a 5% premium for employees working in King County, or an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium.
Schedule: Midday (11-7pm) 5 days a week.
The Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) is seeking an experienced and mission-driven leader to join Echo Glen Children’s Center, a secure Juvenile Rehabilitation facility serving youth.
This vital role contributes to our mission by providing strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight within a secure juvenile rehabilitation setting.
It oversees and manages assigned areas of the Echo Glen Children’s Center, including residential living units, mental health services, safety and sanitation, education, vocational training, treatment programs, and security operations.

The Opportunity:As an Associate Superintendent, you will report directly to the Superintendent and serve as a key member of the facility’s executive leadership team.
You will provide oversight of daily operations while advancing DCYF’s mission, vision, values, strategic goals, and the Integrated Treatment Model (ITM).
You will exercise independent judgment in matters related to youth classification, custody, rehabilitation, transfer, and release.
This position is one of three Associate Superintendents and includes direct supervision of staff and responsibility for maintaining safe, effective, and compliant facility operations.

Required Qualifications:
Seven years of professional experience in a management level position overseeing significant project or program implementation in a social service or similar organization.
AND
One year supervisory experience.
OR
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education; in Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a closely allied field AND Five years of professional experience in a management position overseeing significant project or program implementation in a social service or similar organization.
AND
One year supervisory experience.
OR
Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education, in Public Administration, Social Sciences or a closely allied field, AND Four years of professional experience in a management position overseeing significant project or program implementation in a social service or similar organization.

One-year supervisory experience.
