Summary

This job is for an Assistant United States Attorney who prosecutes federal criminal and civil cases, focusing on white-collar crimes like securities fraud, bank fraud, tax fraud, cyber intrusions, and intellectual property theft in the Boston area.

Full Job Description

Assistant United States Attorneys prosecute all criminal and civil cases brought by the federal government and defend the United States in civil cases.

As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement for other units in the Criminal or Civil Division. Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D.

Degree, be an active member of the bar in good standing (in any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 3 years post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Five years of experience as a criminal attorney, superior academic credentials, and experience briefing and arguing before federal appellate courts preferred.

You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:

  • AUSAs in the Securities, Financial & Cyber Fraud Unit improve the quality of life for Massachusetts residents by prosecuting crimes that include securities, bank, and tax fraud, including insider-trading schemes; theft from government programs and private businesses; network intrusions, data theft, and other intellectual property crimes; and other white-collar offenses.
