This job is for an Assistant United States Attorney in the Civil Division, where you'll represent the U.S.
government in a variety of complex civil cases, starting with simpler tasks and advancing as you gain experience.
It's based in offices in Florida, like Fort Myers, and involves working independently in a fast-paced setting to uphold justice.
A good fit would be someone with a law degree, bar membership, and at least a year of legal experience who is passionate about public service and has strong communication skills.

Degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 1* year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience. United States citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Applicants should have excellent academic credentials and some litigation experience, preferably at least three years.
Applicants also should be computer literate, possess superior oral and written communication skills, have strong character and excellent interpersonal skills, have the capacity to function with minimal guidance in a highly demanding environment, and have a strong commitment to public service.

The United States Attorney's Office, Middle District of Florida (MDFL), is seeking to hire one or more Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSA) to serve in the Civil Division.
The applicant selected will represent the U.S. Government as AUSAs on a wide range of unique and complex cases.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
The MDFL is headquartered in Tampa and has branch offices in Orlando, Jacksonville, Fort Myers and Ocala. These positions will be filled in any of the following three
locations: Jacksonville, Ft. Myers, or Orlando. Please be sure to state your location preference in your cover letter. As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement.
Security Requirements: Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory preemployment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing.
In addition, continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
Residency Requirements: Assistant United States Attorneys generally must reside in the district to which he or she is appointed or within 25 miles thereof. See 28 U.S.C.
545 for district-specific information.
