Requirements

The Colorado Supreme Court Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel seeks applications for the position of Assistant Regulation Counsel – Intake Division. The Assistant Regulation Counsel’s duties include investigating and analyzing complaints alleging unethical conduct filed against attorneys, licensed legal paraprofessionals (LLPs), and Colorado judicial officers, where that conduct is within the jurisdiction of the office. Investigating and analyzing allegations of the unauthorized practice of law. Interacting with the legal community, law students and the general public on practice of law issues. Promptly identifying complaints involving allegations of serious misconduct. Develop and present educational programs for lawyers and the public regarding the office and ethical issues that confront lawyers and judges.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a law degree and admission to or eligibility for admission to the practice of law in Colorado. Five years of actual experience practicing law. A familiarity with the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct and the application of the Rules to everyday practice of law issues, including a strong understanding of law office management issues.
