Job Description

Summary

This role involves supporting the management of projects at a naval shipyard in Hawaii, focusing on planning, coordinating, and ensuring smooth operations for maintenance, safety, and environmental tasks.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a ASSISTANT PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT in the EXECUTIVE SUPPORT STAFF DIVISION of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating or executing plans in any of the following areas: (Project Management planning; Facilities: Industrial Plant Equipment (IPE), Training; Material/Supply; Occupational Safety & Health (OSH); Environmental Compliance) for a shipyard organization to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of project operations.

  • You will perform special duties and projects as directed by Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY) Commander and Production Superintendent.
  • You will prepare and collaborate in the preparation of comprehensive analysis reports covering all phases of studies and investigations relative to assigned area of responsibility.
  • You will develop, coordinate and manage a variety of projects including but not limited to major/minor maintenance and repair projects from inception to completion.
  • You will provide technical guidance and assistance regarding feasibility, cost, time frame, etc. to representatives of PHNSY and tenant activities located on the installation.
  • You will serve as liaison and team integrator to independently solve issues and problems within assigned division.
  • You will research/review Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations and collaborate with US Navy commands and host nations on the development of OSH standards and regulations for PHNSY workers.
  • You will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing/leading and ensuring environmental program compliance.
