We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to assume the role of Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager at the Department of Transportation District 12, located in the Washington County Maintenance Office. This pivotal position is integral to the seamless and effective management of maintenance operations across the county. Requirements
In this position, you will assist the County Maintenance Manager by creating programs, estimates, and plans for a range of maintenance activities, such as surface treatments, patching, aggregate stockpiling, snow removal, signage, and bridge maintenance and construction within a geographical area of Washington County Maintenance Organization. You will oversee both general and specialized maintenance teams as they carry out highway and bridge maintenance tasks, along with minor construction projects.
Additionally, you will draft preliminary long-term, annual, monthly, and weekly work plans, while also reviewing and recommending actions regarding estimates and requests for funding, personnel, materials, and equipment for seasonal and annual planning. Your responsibilities will include developing, negotiating, monitoring, and evaluating agility agreements within your designated area to ensure equitable service exchanges, as well as collaborating with local government and public service representatives to establish project priorities. Furthermore, you will manage incident and emergency management activities for your assigned county area and oversee environmental clearances and permits.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
