Advertised Job Summary
The position will direct and lead of accounting and financial analysis and reporting for the Controller’s Office.
Develops and maintains reports the University needs for operations, administering the reporting system and working with reporting business analyst to develop new reports, providing oversight of the University’s chart of accounts, maintaining the ERP accounting structure the reports are based on, and leading process improvements through the development of reporting tools for all areas of the Controller’s Office.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Preferred Qualifications
• CPA of CGFO preferred.
• PeopleSoft or other ERP Experience preferred.
• Higher Education experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• An extensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles for higher education.
• Thorough knowledge of state and federal statutes and regulations pertaining to higher education financial management and ability to analyze and interpret.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of university, state, federal and other external personnel.
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, capital financing, debt management, tax, banking, budgeting, financial management or investment.
• Knowledge of state government fiscal accounting processes.
• Knowledge of financial statement analysis.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and reports.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
