Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

This job involves leading a team of developers to build and maintain computer systems, manage databases, and integrate software for the Alaska Department of Health.

Six years of computer programming experience, of which, at least two years were at the project leader or systems design level. This is equivalent to an Analyst/Programmer 4 with the State of Alaska.
Two years of experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer information management support specialty.
The specialized experience may be gained concurrently.
Substitution:
A bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for one year of the required experience.
An associate's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience in a specialty area.
There is no substitute for the systems analysis and design or project leadership experience.
Special Note:
An applicant who is considered under the Substitution above qualifies to apply for this job class IF the applicable coursework is completed within three (3) months of hire.
Under this option, an applicant may receive a conditional job offer; however, proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.
Individual positions at each level in this class series may require expertise in a particular area of programming or analysis. Recruitment and selection will be on the basis of these requirements.
