The current Workers’ Compensation System is a legacy system that lacks the functionality to fully support the Colorado workforce for work-related injuries, as it was developed several years ago with older, proprietary technology. The CoComp project will require the Division to fully replace the existing workers’ compensation system, including all applications and databases and is categorized as a full system replacement of existing IT-dependent business workflows and processes.

This position exists to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and technical requirements throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.

The position bridges business operations and technology teams, utilizing Agile and Waterfall methodologies, process evaluation, and data management to align IT deliverables with mission-critical business needs.

The position works with Division leadership and cross-functional project teams on user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure optimal performance outcomes and successful system development, as defined by identified success criteria.

Position supports the Project Manager and project team by implementing various Change Management tools to facilitate the positive adoption of the system by Division Stakeholders.

This position is term limited to 12/31/2028.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience Only:

Six (6) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position to include: Working in a business analyst capacity in the field of technology.

Performing strategic project planning/change management across multiple units/cross functional teams and creating user acceptance testing scripts.


OR


Education and Experience:

A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to six (6) years


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in project management methodology (AGILE, SCRUM, Waterfall).
  • Experience creating and managing user acceptance testing.
  • Experience in technology-based change management to include customer and stakeholder support.
  • Performing duties similar to those assigned to the position as a classified State of Colorado employee.

Required Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Agile and/or waterfall methodologies

  • Familiarity with Organizational Change Management principles

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to build relationships and cultivate partnerships
