Base salary range: $41,966 - $54,557
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-6. Bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement or 1 year graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves inspecting and maintaining a naval airfield to keep it safe for aircraft operations, managing daily schedules and communications from the operations desk, and coordinating construction projects that might affect flights.
A good fit would be someone with experience in safety inspections, project coordination, and training others in a high-stakes environment like aviation or military bases, who pays close attention to details and can handle routine tasks under pressure.
You will serve as a AIRFIELD SPECIALIST in the AIR OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL AIR STATION LEMOORE.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) conducting routine inspections of facilities, equipment, work areas, or operational spaces to ensure safety, compliance, and readiness; 2) identifying unsafe conductions, coordinating corrective actions, and making recommendations to suspend or restrict operations until risk are mitigated; 3) coordinating construction, maintenance, repair, or improvement activities that affect operational continuity; 3) coordinating daily airfield construction and maintenance projects; and 4) providing training, maintaining records, evaluating results, and issuing certifications, permits, or other credentials as required.
