Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves maintaining and repairing aircraft safety systems, like ejection seats and escape mechanisms, to ensure they work properly for pilots.
Workers troubleshoot issues, install parts, and test equipment on and off the aircraft.

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D0115000 and is part of the CO 140th MXS, National Guard. Military Grades: E-4 thru E-5 1.
Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. 2. An applicants RESUME must provide, in detail, how they meet each specialized experience listed below. 3.

Experience in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems. 2.
Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedy where complex relationships exist. 3. Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment. 4.
Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment. 5. Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications. Major Duties:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform on and off equipment maintenance on aircraft egress systems, such as aircraft ejection seats, extraction and escape systems, egress components of jettison canopies, explosive components of escape hatches and doors, and egress trainers.
Troubleshoots, installs, removes, repairs.
modifies, adjusts, inspects, and tests aircraft components such as: flow indicators, actuator motors, thruster and positioning mechanisms, seat actuators, catapult guide rails, ejection seats, rocket packs, and canopies, etc.
Inspects pressurization system air pressure gauges for sufficient pressure and bottles and regulators for general condition and serviceability.
Performs installation, modification, and repair of aircraft egress systems.
Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IC and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.
