This job involves maintaining and repairing military aircraft for the Army National Guard, including inspections, troubleshooting, and fixing systems like engines and hydraulics to keep planes safe and operational.
It's a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with machinery and can handle detailed mechanical tasks under pressure.
A good fit would be an experienced enlisted mechanic with at least 18 months in aircraft repair, who is reliable and able to guide junior team members.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0483000 and is part of the NC ASO, National Guard (ASO - AASF 1 / Manning Doc. 4621-088).
Military Grades: Enlisted (E6 and below) Minimum Requirements: Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications.
Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (Must have 18 months) experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.
Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow.
Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
