This job involves hands-on maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft systems like hydraulics, fuel lines, landing gear, and engines in a naval depot setting.
Workers perform detailed disassembly, troubleshooting, and reassembly using technical manuals and tools to ensure everything meets strict safety standards.

You will serve as an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST, INDUSTRIAL EXECUTION DEPT (6.2), PRODUCTION TRADES DIV (6.2.1) of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: performing all phases of maintenance, overhaul, and repair on aircraft within a Depot-level Maintenance Interverbal Environment; disassembling, modifying, repairing, and reassembling major airframes and associated systems-including hydraulics, fuel, oil, landing gear, and gearboxes-in strict accordance with prescribed tolerances and technical manuals; interpreting blueprints and other technical data to a high degree of skill; and utilizing of all standard and specialized tools required for aircraft rework.
