This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, Position Description Number D1525000 and is part of the PA 193rd Special Operations Wing, National Guard.

APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the 193rd SOW AOC 2: NG employees in the 193 Special Operations Wing (This includes 193rd RSG, 193rd AOG, 211th EIS, 271st CCS, 201st RHS, 112th ACS, 203rd Weather Flight, 193rd SOW Det 1, 148th ASOS, PA ANG HQ DET 1) AOC 3: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes Traditional Airmen, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel) AOC 5: Individuals who are currently serving in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the PANG TEMPORARY PROMOTION/REASSIGNMENT: Currently employed permanent technician selected will occupy this position as a Promotion not to exceed or Reassignment as appropriate in their present status.
INDEFINITE: Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician.
Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period.
Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice.
Military Grades: ENLISTED E3-E5 Supervisor for this position is MSgt Rupert Manpower #0078529534 *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Secret Security Clearance -Individual(s) nominated must successfully complete a baseline initial employment physical examination in accordance with 5 CFR, Part 339 and Technician Personnel Regulation TPR 335.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that has provided you with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate experience in the following: experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.
Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow.
The ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying.
Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed.
The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.

As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, WG-8852-12, you will direct, monitor or perform overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more aircraft.
Ensure aircraft documentation and Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) accurately reflect the airworthiness of the Aircraft.
Perform in-process and final inspection of aircraft and components undergoing repair, overhaul and/or modification to verify and certify by signature adherence to work techniques, procedures and quality standards established by applicable publications.
Plan, develop and conduct training during the technician work week to a multi facet workforce comprised of from 3 to 8 assigned military positions.
Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises and Operations Other Than War (OOTW).
Comply with safety, fire, security, environmental and housekeeping regulations. Perform other duties as assigned.
