The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Senior Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer with overall supervision and management of either an Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, a Maintenance Squadron, an Equipment Maintenance Squadron or a Component Maintenance Squadron at an Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) unit-equipped or associate unit.
THIS IS AN AIR RESERVE TECHNICIAN OFFICER POSITION.
This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer position located at 349th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron with the military rank of Lieutenant through Major (O1-O4), AFSC: 021A3.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems.
Examples of specialized experience includes use of a variety of reports and consultation with managers and subordinates, planning, directing, and coordinating the maintenance activities of the squadron, and support activity and function of small to medium military installations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1.
Broad knowledge of aircraft maintenance management practices, procedures and organizational and mission requirements; capabilities and limitations. 2.
Knowledge of basic operating principles of assigned aircraft systems and components; basic munitions, munitions procedures and quality assurance and other unit operations. 3.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 4.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. 5.
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 6.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. 7. Knowledge of maintenance information systems. 8.
Knowledge and ability to interpret instructions, specifications, technical orders, publications and operating procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Major Duties:
Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the squadron. Manage assigned maintenance resources and ensures production meets operational requirements and technical standards.
Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities to include personnel and position management, equal opportunity, security, and safety.
Advises employees regarding policies, procedures and directives of management. Represent organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
