Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of mechanics who repair and maintain air conditioning systems on naval ships and facilities at Pearl Harbor, ensuring work is done efficiently and safely.

A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in HVAC repair who enjoys supervising others, planning tasks, and training new team members in a fast-paced military environment.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will assist the supervisor in assigning work to subordinates taking into account established schedules and priority work, capabilities, and workload distribution.
  • You will check work while in progress and when finished to see whether the supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met.
  • You will provide on-the-job training for new employees.
  • You will perform non-supervisory work of the same type performed by your subordinates.
