This entry-level job as an Aide Trainee at the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home involves providing daily care and support to veterans and their spouses, such as helping with daily routines and encouraging participation in activities.
It includes hands-on training to develop skills in non-professional nursing care, with the opportunity to advance to a certified Nurse Aide after completing classroom sessions, exams, and orientation.

Our enthusiastic and dedicated nursing staff provides 24-hour care, seven days per week.
From helping our residents prepare for their day, to encouraging them to participate in exciting activities, you will make a difference each day.
Through positive relationships, you will positively impact the quality of resident's lives by providing the best possible care.
This position is the start of your journey to becoming a Nurse Aide.
You will attend formal classroom training and complete reading assignments, listen to lectures, watch instructional films, observe demonstrations, and role play.
You will also receive on-the-job training assignments to develop knowledge, skills, abilities, and focus necessary to provide non-professional rehabilitative nursing care.
After successful completion of an 8-hour training course, successfully passing the competency exam, a 16 hour classroom course, and an 80 hour orientation program, will certified as a state tested Nurse Aide.
