Summary

This job involves leading a team that provides support services to older adults, caregivers, and veterans to improve their health and quality of life.

You'll supervise staff, manage budgets, explain programs to the community, and ensure everything follows the rules.

Key Requirements

  • Three years of experience in public or private social work plus a Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination including 12 semester hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or related social sciences
  • Supervisory experience in training, evaluating, and managing aging care managers and case aides
  • Ability to conduct meetings, interpret policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with aging program regulations
  • Skills in assisting with budget preparation, administration, and recommending program changes
  • Strong communication abilities to explain services to older adults, caregivers, veterans, and community partners
  • Pennsylvania residency requirement
  • Full-time on-site work from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, no telework option

We are seeking a caring and energetic individual who likes helping the elderly to participate in the supervision, assistance, and coordination of information and programs for older adults.

Requirements

In this position, you will supervise the provision of services to older adults, including caregivers and veterans.

This includes training, supervising, and evaluating the work of beginning level and seasoned aging care managers and case aides.

Your work will involve conducting regular meetings, relaying and interpreting policy and procedure, and helping your staff ensure that all work complies with the rules, regulations, and procedures of Aging and Aging-related programs.


Your responsibilities will involve assisting with the preparation and administration of the annual Aging program budgets, making recommendations to agency administration on potential changes related to Aging programs, and participating in the development of and implementation of new policies and procedures.

Communication is key as you will also explain Aging and other community services to older adults, caregivers, veterans, and other interested parties, as well as work with other agencies in the community in an effort to share information about these beneficial programs and services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of experience in public or private social work and a Bachelor's Degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training including successful completion of 12 semester hours of college level courses in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
