This position will offer great benefits with the state, including 15 days of annual and sick leave per year or more depending on applicable state service.

Front Desk & Visitor Management

• Serves as the primary point of contact for all visitors, vendors, and guests.

• Greets, screens, and directs visitors in a professional and courteous manner.

• Verifies visitor identification and issues visitor badges in accordance with agency access control procedures.

• Maintains accurate visitor logs and ensures compliance with building security protocols.

• Monitors lobby activity and report suspicious or unusual behavior to appropriate personnel.

• Coordinates with agency leadership and/or building security regarding visitor access.

Communication & Inquiry Management

• Answers and routes high-volume incoming telephone calls using a multi-line system.

• Responds to general email inquiries and directs correspondence appropriately.

• Provides accurate information regarding agency services and directs inquiries to appropriate staff.

Administrative & Operational Support (Front Desk Related)

• Maintains a clean, organized, and professional reception area.

• Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail and deliveries.

• Performs light clerical duties directly related to front office operations (copying, scanning, filing).

• Assists with maintaining front office supply inventory.

Safety & Emergency Response

• Follows established safety, evacuation, and emergency response procedures.

• Exercises sound judgment when addressing disruptive visitors or sensitive situations.



Requirements

A high school diploma and related clerical, receptionist, or customer service experience. An associate or bachelor's degree may substitute for related work experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of front office and reception procedures.

  • Knowledge of customer service principles and professional etiquette.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with diverse audiences.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a government or public-facing environment.
  • Experience operating multi-line phone systems.
  • Experience with visitor management or badge systems.
