The
Security Management Section (
SMS) with the
Facilities Management Division (
FMD) is seeking an
Administrator I to join our team! The
Administrator I will assist the Security section with process refinements and continuous improvements, data collection and management, and provide administrative support to section leaders with regards to time keeping, scheduling, and maintaining the section training calendar.
This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) Term-Limited Temporary or Special Duty Assignment (SDA) opportunity. It may also be used to establish an eligibility list for vacancies within this classification within the next 6 months.
THE FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION
Through a workforce of over 300 dedicated employees, the FMD operates and manages the County's capital assets by developing and maintaining cost-conscious, sustainable, high-quality facilities, and environments.
The Building Operations Section of FMD maintains approximately 3 million square feet in facilities where King County provides regional services, including the King County Courthouse and District Courts, Maleng Regional Justice Center, King County Administration Building, King County Animal Shelter, and several Public Health facilities.
Our facilities range in age from 8 to 100 years, with equipment such as boilers, chillers, DDC controls, ventilation fans, pumps and compressors, and fire/life/safety systems.

Requirements
- Participate in the development, coordination
and support of programs or projects for the FMD Security section.
- Assist in data collection and analysis for assigned projects and drafting reports.
- Collaborate with the FMD continuous improvement team to achieve results for the security section.
- Assist in the development and/or revisions to security team SOPs, post orders, and emergency plans.
- Coordinate process for attendance, time keeping, scheduling for the section.
- Support Supervisors, Sergeants, and Manager in executing the process and training the team.
- Collaborate with Supervisors and Sergeants to develop a training program and training calendar.
- Help develop monitoring and tracking systems to support work activities; administer and monitor such systems.
- Assist Section Manager and Supervisors with section budget monitoring.
- Coordinate purchases and inventory tracking for the section.
- Support the security electronics team by processing work orders and solving problems for internal and external customers.
- Coordinate internal county work associated with security electronics programs and projects.
- Coordinate contract security site scans and report review, weekly attendance tracking, and invoice reconciliation for the section.
- Assist Supervisors and Manager with section timesheet review. Complete approvals as directed by leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding of MS Office applications, MS Teams, and a basic understanding of SharePoint.
- Skill in oral and written communication including conducting technical training and presentations.
- Showcased ability to work independently with initiative and collaboratively with a wide range of staff roles.
HIGHLY DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in a facilities or security environment at a public agency.
- Experience in project management and the ability to plan and define project procedures, identify risks upfront, and maintain multiple competing priorities.

ADDITIONAL POSITION INFORMATION- The schedule for this position will be Monday - Friday, between operating hours of 7 -5. The final schedule will be determined between the successful candidate and the section manager, and will consider business and operational needs.
The reporting location for this position will be the King County Chinook Building, 401 5th Ave., Seattle, WA 98104.
This position will be a hybrid position with onsite reporting of at least 3 days pers week.
Successful candidates will be required to report onsite 5 days per week during the onboarding period for training purposes.
- This position is FLSA-exempt and not eligible for overtime
- This position has been designated Non-Mission Critical, which means that you perform functions which can be delayed in the event of an emergency. If an emergency occurs, report your status as instructed by your agency.
