Full Job Description

You will serve as the Insider Threat Program Manager and Command Investigator in the Security Division, Corporate Operations Department of NAVSURFWARCENDLD.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting evaluations and investigations of personnel security matters to ensure compliance with security regulations, directives, or guidelines.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as General Investigator for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division Command Security Office for Preliminary Inquiries to determine loss or suspected loss or compromise of classified information.
  • You will conduct inspections, investigations, independent reviews, analyses, evaluations, and studies of command operations, to detect compliance and risk deficiencies and recommend improvements for the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
  • You will coordinate and perform command administrative inquiries/investigations to include personnel issues, workplace matters, and improper actions by personnel.
  • You will organize inquires and investigations, conduct interviews, observe and record facts about persons, object, and events, understand and analyzes agency records, and make thorough and completed investigative reports.
  • You will interface with Commanding Officer, Technical Director, Command Staff, management officials for the purpose of providing briefings and advice on inquiries and investigations.
  • You will communicate assignments, projects, milestones, and program issues under review, and the deadlines and time frames for completion of complex investigations.
  • You will establish procedures to access, gather, integrate, and provide for reporting of relevant and credible information across the Command.
  • You will serve as the Insider Threat Program Manager, leading and managing the coordination of the commands Insider Threat Program.
