Job Description

Summary

This role involves supporting equal employment opportunity and diversity programs in a naval division, including analyzing data to spot barriers to fair hiring and advancement, raising awareness among staff, and recommending fixes to leadership.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to NT-4 (GS-11-12) for NT-5 level, leading development and implementation of EEO and Diversity & Inclusion programs
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to NT-3 (GS-9-10) for NT-4 level, providing support for EEO and Diversity & Inclusion programs
  • Ability to conduct barrier analysis and identify discriminatory practices in employment
  • Skills in reviewing and analyzing data, surveys, and reports (e.g., MD-715) on a regular basis
  • Experience making recommendations to management for corrective actions to remove barriers
  • Knowledge of EEO policies, principles, and federal regulations from OPM standards
  • Strong communication skills to work with managers, supervisors, and employees to raise awareness

Full Job Description

You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION OFFICE (CODE 10E) of CARDEROCK DIV NS.

For the NT-5: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-4 (GS 11-12) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector leading in the development and implementation of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity and Inclusion programs.

For the NT-4: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NT-3 (GS-9-10) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing support for the development and implementation of Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity and Inclusion programs.

  • You will serve as an Equal Opportunity Specialist who supports EEO programs.
  • You will work with managers, supervisors and non-supervisory employees to raise awareness of EEO policies and principles, conducting barrier analysis, and making recommendations to the Division Head for EEO for corrective action.
  • You will identify potential discriminatory practices and barriers to the employment and advancement of all groups of employees and applicants for employment and recommend ways to change these practices and remove potential barriers.
  • You will review and analyze data to provide input into the MD-715 report for special emphasis program area and advise deputy EEO and Diversity Officer and management officials of barriers and possible solutions.
  • You will review and analyze data, surveys and various sources on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to identify potential barriers and recommend a plan of action of to eliminate barriers.
