Full Job Description

You will serve as a Program Manager in the NUWC Division, Keyport Pacific Detachment of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. This position is equivalent to the GS-11/12 level.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09/10 grade level or NT-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing safety and occupational health and environmental support including assessing and controlling hazards, conducting inspections, investigating injuries, and providing recommendations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will establish, manage, and evaluate comprehensive safety programs to ensure full compliance with Federal Regulations and Navy policy.
  • You will conduct thorough safety and occupational health evaluations of workplaces and programs.
  • You will plan and execute periodic and unannounced inspections of all assigned facilities to identify and document safety deficiencies.
  • You will act as the principal technical advisor to both military and civilian leadership on matters affecting the safety and health of personnel.
  • You will investigate all workplace mishaps, injuries, and illnesses to determine root causes.
  • You will manage the Hazardous Material Program to ensure compliance with Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-know Act (EPCRA), Pollution Prevention, and Clean Air Act requirements.
  • You will develop and provide on-site training to personnel in hazardous material handling, spill response, and hazardous waste procedures.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
