Job Description
The Homer M. Stark Law Library supports the research needs of the Gwinnett County Judicial Circuit, county employees, Bar Associations of Gwinnett County, and litigants. This Administrative Support Associate position will assist the public conducting research by locating appropriate materials, suggesting possible resources, and providing general instructions and directions.

Essential Duties
  • Provide basic legal reference and research assistance
  • Assist patrons with checking out and returning library books and materials
  • Assist with registration of attendees for the “Legal Aid Lawyer in the Library” Clinic
  • Collect and record law library statistics and produce chart
  • Attend team meetings and required training
  • Check in mail and distribute
  • Operate copiers, printers, fax machines, and telephones
  • Shelve books and reading materials
  • Process new books and input data into the library EOS system
  • Maintain order in stacks
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule after an initial probationary period and individual approval.
Grade
The grade for this position is 100J. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • Experience with basic legal resources and online legal services (Westlaw & Lexis)
  • Prior library experience
  • Knowledge of Integrated Library System (ILS) or library management system software
  • Familiarity with Library of Congress Classification System
  • Spanish proficiency
