About the Position: This position supports the Director for Administration, Case Accessioning at the Joint Pathology Center, Silver Spring, MD.
Incumbent will perform a wide range of office administrative functions, provide anatomic pathology support and operate software systems to include queries, generation of reports in/from the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) and the CoPath sub function of the CHCS laboratory module.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative duties within a research facility, medical laboratory and/or Medical Treatment Facility (MTF); providing guidance to personnel within the department; utilizing automated healthcare systems and office automation software to enter and retrieve data; composing correspondence and reports involving common medical terminology; and receiving telephone calls from internal and external customers.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
