DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe Administrative Specialist (MOAL) reports to the Administration Manager of the Mayor’s Office for Adult Literacy.
This position supports the administrative functions of the office in the achievement of its goals and is responsible for coordinating digital communications for the office.
Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends (Saturdays) as the schedule requires.
Candidates with directly related experience in adult literacy or adult education program administration preferred.The essential functions of the Administrative Specialist are the following:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Liberal Arts, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
(3) Three years of administrative experience are required. Professional administrative experience may be substituted for the above education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
SELECTION / SKILLS TESTS REQUIRED The selection process will involve application review and/or interview. The department may administer skills assessment test.

PAY GRADE - 20 SALARY INFORMATIONFactors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
