About the Position: The Military Entrance Processing Station plays a vital role in maintaining the nation's military might by ensuring that each new member of the Armed Forces: Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force & Coast Guard; meets the high mental, moral & medical standards required by the DoD & the military services.

Every MEPS represents state of the art in testing, examining & processing applicants for enlistment into the Armed Forces. This position is a permanent position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Maintaining an organization's automated supply inventory system; Assisting with building inspections to identify necessary maintenance; Utilizing a company credit card to procure approved supplies and services; Assisting with motor vehicle management (i.e., coordinating vehicle pickup, maintenance, dispatch, and return).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

If you are a current Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement.

In addition, if your step reflects '00', you must include your current salary for each position. Major Duties:

  • Accounts for current and incoming inventory items.
  • Tracks the status of assets utilizing automated systems.
  • Adhere to rules and guidelines while performing the duties of a Purchasing Agent.
  • Advises and assists commander and staff members on all matters pertaining to motor vehicle management and maintenance.
  • Independently evaluates the need for facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensures proper handling and compliance of hazardous materials.
