  • Experience at the level of Office Assistant 3 or Accounting Technician 3 or higher
  • Ability to manage fleet operations, including vehicle distribution, fuel card assignment, and maintenance scheduling
  • Skills in tracking and reporting vehicle usage, accident investigations, and driver insurability validation
  • Proficiency in using fleet tracking systems, reservation tools, and telematics technology for monitoring driver behavior and vehicle health

This position acts as the Agency Fleet Coordinator as required in WV State Code §5A-12-8 for the Office of Shared Administration, Department of Human Services, Department of Health, and Department of Health Facilities.

It works closely with the Department of Administration’s Fleet Management Division to ensure the distribution of newly leased vehicles and acts as support and point of contact for all fleet questions and concerns throughout the Agency.

This position assigns and tracks all Agency fuel cards and PINs and manages the Central Fleet through the Agency’s fleet tracking, reservation and distribution system.

This position also tracks, evaluates, schedules and approves vehicle maintenance and assists with vehicle accident and complaint investigations and helps validate the insurability of Agency drivers.

It also compiles reports related to vehicle usage and allocations and facilitates all aspects of the telematics technology in our state-owned fleet, including monitor/evaluate driver behavior, vehicle location, and health of vehicle to ensure driver safety, efficient utilization and preservation of our assets.

Qualifications

Training: Graduation from an accredited college or university. Preference may be given to candidates with a major in the area of public or business administration, accounting, industrial relations, communications or related field.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience as described below may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required training.
Experience: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid employment in a technical or advanced clerical position providing administrative services such as accounting, budgeting, project monitoring and reporting, personnel, or procurement and property. Experience must have been at the Office Assistant 3 or Accounting Technician 3 level or higher.
Substitution: Successful completion of graduate study in an accredited college or university in one of the above fields may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
