The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Somerset is seeking a dependable and motivated Administrative Officer 1 to join our team.

In this position, you will provide program coordination and administrative assistance to the Corrections Superintendent Assistant (CSA).
Your work will involve collecting and reviewing inmate grievances, assigning grievances to designated staff for response, and reviewing responses to grievances.
You will research issues contained in inmate appeals, draft responses, and prepare the final copy of the response for the Superintendent’s signature.
Some of your duties will also include assisting the CSA in legal visit preparation, answering inmate requests, gathering information for inmate lawsuits, and verifying cases for legal box exemptions.
Additionally, you will research and prepare drafts of correspondence, as well as assist in assuring mandatory and non-mandatory standards are met.
