The Department of Environmental Protection's Human Resource (HR) Office is looking for a candidate with excellent analytical and communication skills to participate in a paid, 12-month, on-the-job, training program as an Administration and Management Trainee within our agency's Talent Management section. Requirements

As an Administration and Management Trainee, you will gain valuable skills and experience enabling you to become a valuable resource to hiring managers.

Within this role, you will learn how to provide consultative guidance and assistance regarding talent acquisition and complement management.

This involves facilitating agency hiring requests, preparing applicant referrals for agency review, working with hiring managers to set up self-scheduling, and trouble-shooting inquiries.

You will also learn how to evaluate posting history and develop appropriate strategies to establish an optimal candidate pool as well as assist hiring managers with developing interview questions and criteria.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
