Requirements

As an Administration and Management Trainee in this 12-month training program, you will learn the duties of this position while gaining valuable skills and experience. Candidates who successfully complete this program will have the opportunity for promotion to Human Resource Analyst 1.


Work involves providing consultative services to agency managers, supervisors, and human resource liaisons regarding the proper development and maintenance of position descriptions.

You will run reports to identify outdated position descriptions and work with supervisors or their designees to update and upload them.

This includes creating template position descriptions for high-volume, agency-specific job titles.

Additionally, you will assist in the administration of seasonal human resource programs including summer and winter temporary employment; high school and college interns; and annuitants.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, dependent upon successful progress reviews. Telework is not available within the first six months of employment.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree, including 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 15 credits in public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
