Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900
Typical requirements: Executive-level leadership experience. Senior executive qualifications required.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
Job Description
Summary
This role involves teaching physics classes at a community college, such as introductory or lab-based courses, while evaluating student progress through tests, assignments, and feedback.
It also requires keeping accurate records and following school rules on teaching and student behavior.
Ideal candidates are physics experts with a master's degree and some teaching background, especially those who enjoy helping beginners grasp science concepts.
Key Requirements
- Master’s degree in physics or a closely related field
- OR Master’s degree in a related discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Physics
- Previous teaching experience at a community college
- Experience teaching physics laboratories
- Ability to assess student learning through exams, quizzes, labs, homework, and assignments
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
- Maintain accurate academic records, including attendance and grades, in compliance with college policies
