Full Job Description

This position will be assigned to the Air Force Services Center at Port San Antonio, TX. This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience: Basic accounting experience with the interrelationship of accounts and the effects of debits and credit transactions on the overall system of general ledgers.

Experience with NAF accounting practices and procedures. Experience with comprehending accounting functions of Oracle financial or similar accounting systems.

Experience with training methods and preparation of training briefing materials.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's) Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Understanding of the relationship between general ledger and the subsidiary accounts and extensive subdivision of accounts.

Knowledge in Microsoft Office application software to produce a wide range of office documents is desired. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and concepts.

Skill in basic formula in Microsoft Excel is desired. Proficiency in typing and data entry is desired. Experience with customer service.

Performs accounting customer support to all customers. Performs full range of accounting duties through the use of the Oracle financial systems.

Receives and responds to live phone and e-mail messages using the fully automated capabilities of Right Now Technologies (RNT) to assist customers in classifying and verifying a wide variety of accounting documents in order to ensure their mathematical correctness, completeness of information and to prepare/validate system control sheets with appropriate accounting codes.

Assist customers in maintaining double entry bookkeeping journals and subsidiary ledgers and reconciling accounts, and transcribing to general ledger for closeout of all accounts.

Answers customers questions on how to flow individual funds and specific monies from initiation through expenditure stages in order to trace discrepancies in the Oracle financial systems.

Trace discrepancies in response to customer queries or other Shared Service Center (SSC) division requests.

Assists customers with support in reports prepared to include profit and loss statements, financial statements and miscellaneous financial reporting data.

Performs both accounting and customer support functions independently at the full performance level of accounting duties assigned with occasional support or intervention from the supervisor.

May be required to assist in training new employees on the RNT system. Performs other related duties as assigned.
