One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-06) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as: Performing research and analysis of financial transactions; reconciling financial records to resolve accounting problems; and/or using automated accounting systems to process and verify financial documents, such as contract payments.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in Federal Service.

** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing.

** You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Major Duties:

  • Performs substantial technical research and analysis of unusual transactions, involving contract funding, by preparing work papers and standard schedules to support and prove contract entitlements, financial balances, fund status, and reporting.
  • Computes and pays contractual invoices and claims for payments, recoups prior loan payments, reviews entitlement documents and prepares entitlement payment packages. Reconciles simple and complex contract entitlement financial and payment histories.
  • Researches and resolves unusual and difficult problems relating to any discrepancies found, such as: erroneous data, transactions not processed per established procedures, contract changes, and duplicate charges.
  • Researches and takes or coordinates corrective action ad needed, to include developing applicable solutions and preparing adjustments documents and updating contract financial records.
  • Reviews contract and contract modification documents to verify accounting data and mathematical accuracy, and to determine necessary accounting transactions. Requests and processes required contract modification to correct identified errors.
