Full Job Description

Under general supervision, this position will perform accounting duties, particularly accounts payable, which includes auditing account information, processing vendor invoices, IDTs, travel, and other related documents through the SCEIS system daily.

This position will monitor all credit card expenditures.

Verify accuracy of state treasurers' deposits inclusive of sub funds and account codes.Prepare reconciliation of cash, revenue and expense accounts.

Balance back to Comptroller General's totals in accordance with SCEIS. Prepare and make agency bank deposits in a timely manner. Creates shopping carts in SCEIS as assigned.

Assist in maintaining agency's automated accounting system relative to setting up accounts, preparing budget transfers, journal vouchers and other required state financial forms.

Builds positive relationships with vendors. Places service calls, follows up with users ands vendors with maintenance and trouble issues. Create and run reports using SCEIS.

Performs other related duties as needed.

Requirements Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field or a high school diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing and finance.Additional RequirementsMust be knowledgeable of the principles of accounting, auditing or finance.Must have the ability to complete work and resolve issues in a timely manner.Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others.Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, records, and reports.Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.Must be detail oriented.

Qualifications A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field. At least three (3) years experience in finance/budget using South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS).

Additional Information Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting. Ability to comprehend, plan and implement regulations.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Good oral and written communications skills.
