The immediate vacancy is with the Department of Accounting & General Services in Downtown.

This recruitment is being conducted under the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, a targeted outreach initiative featuring an expedited hiring process, fast-tracking qualified applicants into job opportunities throughout Hawai’i.

Requirements


The Accountant II is an advanced trainee and performs a variety of assignments ranging from the simple to moderately difficult which do not require the services of a fully trained accountant, and performs other related duties as assigned. As an advance trainee, the incumbent advances as as part of his progression to full performance as an independent worker. This class is required to apply knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and practices in carrying out assignments.

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Legal Authorization to Work Requirement:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.

Basic Education: A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with at least 12 semester credit hours in accounting and/or auditing subjects.

Accounting Experience: Six (6) months of progressively responsible professional accounting or auditing experience which may have included teaching accounting at the university level.
