The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Program Management and Administration is looking for an Accountant 3 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!



What you will be doing:Are you ready to take your career to the next level?

The Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is seeking a nonsupervisory Accountant 3 to resolve project budget and billing/reconciliation difficulties.

This is critical in order to ensure accurate posting of expenditures to various tables as well as revenue generation through the Reimbursement Output Cycle.

This position prepares the complex manual billings for multiple programs.

Financial management of these programs requires cost analysis and reconciliation between the State`s Integrated Resource Information System (IRIS) and each of the federal programs` unique financial management system.

This position is responsible for reviewing fixed assets, entering fixed asset transactions, and preparing adjustment requests based on auditor findings.

Who we are looking for:
To be successful in this position, the selected applicant will possess the following core competencies:

  • Federal Funds Processing: Knowledge of methods and procedures for processing direct and reimbursable program funds (for example, automatic and funded reimbursements, interagency agreements, transfer appropriations), grants, loans, and credit programs.
  • Auditing: Knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards and procedures for conducting financial and compliance, economy and efficiency, and program audits.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to interpret quantitative and qualitative data; includes data modeling, earned value management, and evaluating key financial indicators, trends, and historical data
