recruiting for full-time Accountant 2 located in
Juneau, Alaska.

What You Will Be Doing
Under the direction of the Administrative Operations Manager, the Accountant 2 provides professional accounting, administrative, and budgetary support for the Office of Children’s Services division. This position has a critical role in maintaining the Division’s financial projections and in conducting overall fiscal oversight. The Accountant 2 will monitor and review expenditure and revenue information to ensure proper spending and reporting procedures are adhered to.

We Are Seeking a Candidate with the Following Competencies:
  1. Accounting Operations: Knowledge of general ledger accounting and the control/subsidiary account relationships and reconciliation techniques, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and disbursing officer's accountability.
  2. Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving: Uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one’s knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
  3. Adaptability: Adjusts planned work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.

Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial management.

“Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.

Qualifications

At time of interview applicant is requested to submit:

  • A list of three (3) professional* references including daytime telephone numbers and email address; at least two (2) of these must be from a current or former supervisor.
