This position is in the Financial Management Division (FMD), Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO).
The FMD is responsible for verifying, authorizing, and processing financial documents that represent multi-million-dollar annual payments to employees and the billing and collection of multimillions of dollars in revenue from sources owing funds to FSIS.
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Time in Grade: Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet the time in grade requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled (e.g.
one year at the GS-12 grade level for consideration for the GS-13 grade level).Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience to be considered for this position (specialized experience must be at the GS-12 or equivalent to be considered for the GS-13 grade level.) Utilizing functions similar to the U.S.
Standard General Ledger (USSGL) that shows standardized accounting frameworks/systems that mandate uniform financial reporting, categorization, and transaction recording across entities Reviewing internal accounting reports for data integrity Recommending corrective action to management or similar position on correcting imbalances with the agency financial reports Reviews current policies within the organization to ensure compliance with accounting laws, regulations, and policies Working with senior management to develop, coordinate, and implement new accounting reporting requirements and financial oversight For more information on how to qualify for this position, Click Here.
