Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This accountant role in the Navy's Chief of Naval Operations office involves handling financial reconciliations, analyzing data to support decisions, and ensuring accurate reporting for federal funds.
It also includes providing advice on accounting systems, conducting reviews, and resolving discrepancies to maintain strong financial operations.
A good fit would be someone with a couple of years of hands-on accounting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex financial information in a government setting.

GS-11: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Demonstrating ability to conduct monthly reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts to maintain program integrity.
2) Demonstrating accountability in financial reporting, ensuring integrity, reliability, and effectiveness of organizational financial operations.
3) Interpreting and analyzing complex financial data to support leadership decisions and identify trends, risks, and corrective actions.
