Requirements

This position works closely with operations, supply chain, delivery centers, and 3rd Party Logistic providers to ensure accurate accounting of physical inventory.

Inventory accounting ensures that not only does the inventory recorded on file match the inventory on-hand, but more importantly it addresses assessing the correct value of the inventory.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring inventory transactions for all assigned stores
  • Reviewing and monitoring retail in-store adjustments to ensure the accurate accounting of adjusted inventory
  • Working with purchasing and warehouse personnel to identify, locate, and dispose of obsolete, damaged, expired, or spoiled inventory
  • Developing inventory analysis reports and analyze variances
  • Working with operations, supply chain, and warehouse personnel to identify gaps in inventory and review various cycle counts to reconcile transaction errors for assigned stores

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 4 days per week, with one day per week in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Commonwealth's Accounting Intern Program; or
  • One year as a Financial Programs Trainee; or
  • One year as a Fiscal Technician, and fifteen college credits in accounting; or
  • Five years of Bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting; or
  • A Bachelor's Degree including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Legal Requirements:

You must pass a background investigation.

An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code.

Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
