This job is for a Navy JROTC instructor at a high school in Japan, where you'll teach leadership and military skills to students through lessons, counseling, and supervision of activities.

About the Position: This position is located at: Department of Defense Education Activity, DoDEA Pacific East District. Kinnick High School, Yokosuka, Japan. This is an NAVY OFFICER JROTC position.
Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Minimum Education Requirement: Officer - Navy JROTC Officer Instructors must possess a bachelor's degree.
Instructors must also hold a current certification to teach JROTC from United States Navy (USN) headquarters services department.
AND Specialized Experience: Must meet one of the following pathways outlined in 10 USC 2031: Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps: A.
Retired Navy Officer or Navy Warrant Officer holding a bachelor's degree whose qualifications are approved by the Secretary and the institution concerned and who request such employment; B.
Navy Officer or Navy Warrant Officer holding a bachelor's degree who are separated with an honorable discharge within the past 5 years with at least 8 years of service and are approved by the Secretary and the institution concerned and who request such employment; or C.
Navy Officer or Navy Warrant Officer holding a bachelor's degree who are active participating members of the selected reserve at the time of application, for purposes of section 101(d) of this title, and have not yet reached retirement eligibility and are approved by the Secretary and the institution concerned and who request such employment.
**Note** Per 10 USC 2031: Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps In the absence of qualified Navy Officer or Navy Warrant Officer applicants holding a bachelor's degree, the program may extend eligibility to Marine Officer, Marine Corps Warrant Officer applicants holding a bachelor's degree or Coast Guard Officer applicants for consideration.
In the absence of qualified officer applicants after 90 days, the program may extend eligibility to an enlisted applicant with a bachelor's degree.
