This job involves leading a team of counselors who help troubled youth in a residential facility by overseeing their rehabilitation, education, recreation, and daily care to promote positive behavior and personal growth.
A good fit would be someone with experience in youth counseling or social services who is compassionate, a strong leader, and committed to making a real difference in young lives facing challenges like emotional disturbances or delinquency.
The role requires flexibility with shift work in a 24/7 environment and focuses on guiding residents toward better futures through tailored treatment plans.
As a Youth Development Counselor Supervisor, you will supervise a staff that provides rehabilitative treatment, education, recreation, and social development programs for court committed and adjudicated delinquent residents in the youth development center/youth forestry camp (YDC/YFC) system.
You will administer integrated rehabilitative services programs and implement individual resident case management plans.
You will also ensure the delivery of effective resident care and custody, adherence to principles and practices, and appropriate programming for overactive, emotionally disturbed, or suicidal residents.
This role requires the ability to instruct and guide residents as they develop proper and acceptable behavior, as well as a genuine desire to deliver therapeutic services that elicit positive change.
