Job Description

Summary

This role serves as the top enlisted advisor to the wing commander in the Air National Guard, focusing on leading and supporting all enlisted personnel by managing their training, readiness, morale, and professional growth.

It involves advising on policies, ensuring the team's effectiveness, and working closely with other leaders to maintain high standards in operations and welfare.

Ideal candidates are experienced senior enlisted members with strong leadership skills, a passion for mentoring Airmen, and expertise in military administration.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-11 level or equivalent in policy development, program organization, and operational improvements
  • Progressively responsible experience in supervisory, staff, or technical work involving analysis and evaluation of managerial or administrative policies
  • Strong skills in preparing written communications and delivering oral presentations
  • Experience in administration, management, human resources, employee development, and leadership
  • General experience in organization, management, compiling reports, person-to-person communication, and using computer systems
  • Must be eligible for a T32 Excepted Service permanent position in the Air National Guard
  • Ability to serve as senior enlisted leader managing full-time and traditional enlisted Airmen

Full Job Description

This WING COMMAND CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT position, is located at an Air National Guard Wing and is part of the CA 163 ATKW. This position is concurrently announced with AGR A26-156.

Only one of the announced positions will be filled. Referral and selection will be IAWCNGFPR335.

General Experience: Possess experience, education or training in principles of organization, management, and administration; Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information; Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; Experience using computer and automation systems.

WING COMMAND CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT, GS-0301-12: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level experience in developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations; Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures; Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION The primary purpose of the WING COMMAND CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT, GS-0301-12, is to serve as the Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant (CCM), the Wing Senior Enlisted Leader and key member of the command's leadership team managing all military aspects of full time and traditional enlisted Airmen.

A CCM is the commander's key enlisted advocate and advisor on operational effectiveness and the organization, training and equipping of enlisted Airmen.

CCMs ensure the commanders' directions and policies are carried out and the Airmen understand and are dedicated to the mission of the command.

CCMs are responsible for the professional development and proper utilization of the command's enlisted force.

CCMs work in concert with other enlisted leaders such as group superintendents and first sergeants to oversee the readiness, training, health, morale, welfare, quality of life and force development of assigned personnel.
