This job is for a data analyst in a university lab focused on research in energy, environment, health, and policy, where you'll handle data cleaning, analysis, and creating visual tools like maps and dashboards to share findings with teams and the public.

The Greater Resilience, Innovation and Transformation Lab is hiring a Data Analyst to support research across energy, environment, health, and policy.
Responsibilities include cleaning and integrating datasets; conducting statistical modeling; producing dashboards and GIS maps; and translating results for publications and stakeholders.
Proficiency in R or Python and data visualization required; experience with SQL and spatial analysis preferred. Work directly with the Lab Director on high-impact, interdisciplinary projects.
50% - Essential - Data pipelines: acquire, clean, integrate, and document diverse datasets (e.g., utility/outage, climate/hazards, environmental, health, survey, administrative, and geospatial).Conduct statistical analysis and modeling: multivariate regression, panel/time-series, experimental/survey analysis; experience with causal inference methods a plus.Create decision-ready visualizations and products: dashboards, reports, figures, and GIS maps for internal and public audiences.30% - Essential - Implement reproducible workflows(R/Python, Github) with strong QA/QC and data governance practices (code review, metadata, versioning).Summarize results for manuscripts, conference presentations, grant reports, and briefings.20% - Essential - Collaborate across disciplines and with community/policy partners; support student trainees as needed.
Assist in writing reports and journal articles, including creating tables and summaries of research results.
Education - High School or Equivalent
Proficiency in R or Python for data wrangling, analysis, and visualization;
Demonstrated ability to produce clean, well-documented code and compelling visualizations (e.g., ggplot/plotly, matplotlib/Altair, Tableau/Power BI).
Bachelor's degree in Data Science /Statistics/Economics/Public Policy/Engineering/Environmental Science (or related field) or master's degree
Data Science/Statistics/Economics/Public Policy/Engineering/Environmental Science (or related field) and 1+ years of relevant experience; Familiarity with energy, environmental, or public health policy domains.
Spatial analysis (ArcGIS/QGIS, geopandas), map design, and spatial statistics.
Survey design/analysis; experimental or quasi-experimental methods; causal inference. Machine learning for tabular/time-series data;
