Job Description

Summary

This job is for a supervisor who leads a team in a warehouse that handles the storage, shipping, and receiving of beer, wine, and spirits for Utah's state liquor stores, working the afternoon to evening shift from 2 p.m.

to 10:30 p.m. weekdays with occasional weekends.

It's ideal for someone with warehouse and leadership experience who can make quick decisions, lift heavy items, and ensure everything runs smoothly in a fast-paced, automated environment.

Key Requirements

  • Strong supervisory experience, including delegating tasks, hiring, training, and handling performance issues
  • Warehouse experience in shipping, receiving, and storage operations
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions to complete daily assignments efficiently
  • Physical ability to lift 75 pounds continuously and work in a warehouse setting
  • Proficiency in operating computers and automated inventory systems
  • Availability for swing shift (2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday-Friday) and occasional weekends
  • At least 21 years old and able to pass a criminal background check

The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services is seeking a results oriented leader to fill their Warehouse Supervisor position on the Swing Shift. You will be working alongside and supervising a team of employees who are responsible for the accurate shipping, receiving and storage of product.


Responsibilities
As the Swing Shift Warehouse Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise others by delegating assignments, hiring, monitoring performance, training, initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.

  • Work from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (occasional Saturdays and Sundays as needed).

  • Work in an air conditioned warehouse environment.

  • Ensure all warehouse assignments are completed accurately and efficiently.

  • Operate computer and automated inventory systems.

  • Conduct regular or spot check inventory audits.

  • Assists with special projects and other duties as needed to support department initiatives.

  • Uphold the DABS standards of equipment safety, upkeep and training.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned, within the scope of this role.


Minimum Requirements
  • Be able to work independently.

  • Have strong supervisory experience.

  • Be able to make decisions to ensure the daily assignments are completed.

  • Have warehouse experience.

  • Be able to pass a criminal background check.

  • Be able to work Saturdays and Sundays as needed.

  • Be able to lift 75 pounds on a continuous basis.

  • Be at least 21 years of age.

Preference(s):

  • Previous ASRS experience preferred.
